    Sudden Loss of Power on Freeway...

    I was driving North on the 805 this afternoon and after about 10 minutes into the drive... car suddenly loses power for a few seconds... almost like I lost a cylinder or something... and then it went back to driving normally. Anyway... I'm going to drive it home after work, but anyone have any ideas to look at... I did just change to plugs yesterday w/ a set of Bosch Platinum plugs (they are the plugs the Pepboys computer kept pulling up, so...). I was also told that they were pre-gapped, so I didn't bother to check. Anyway... would plugs cause this? I didn't have any problems this morning on my way to work - only when coming back from lunch.

    It's an '84 318i... and it idles kinda rough... seems to jump around a little under 1000rpm when at idle in gear (jumps around a few hundred rpms) and a few ticks over 1000 when in (P)ark (still jumps around a few hundred rpm).

    could be the plugs, they're supposed to be copper plugs, i heard some people complaining about the platnum plugs cause of a voltage differnce between the euro cars and american cars, i have the platnum's and i have crappy throttle response so im thinking about trying copper ones.

      Get Bosch Supers. They're like $1 each.

          I ordered six bosch supers from bma it was like 6 dollars shipped. Moeny well spent.

              make sure all the plug wires were on tight, and clicked. on each end. Also take a look at the cap and rotor. If the metal parts inside are corroded, sand them clean.

                A new cap and rotor for the M10 is only $16 from BMA. I just replaced mine.
