    window gasket replacement...

89 2dr - my drivers side door has a folded in window gasket (inside of the window guide) about an inch away from the b-pillar; as if the window was rolled up after this gasket was askew for some reason, and pushed it in never to come back out again. thankfully it doesn't leak, but i can't ignore it staring me in the face everyday i get into my car :|

I've gone through the entire DIY and was inspecting the door while cleaning my interior yesterday...so here's the question. I believe what i need to replace is #8

How do i remove it? put the new one back in? no diagram i've seen shows clips, so does it just wedge itself in there with a 'flare' that 'snaps' in? I've been looking at window trim removal DIYs which get close to this part of the door but not close enough. TIA, any help is appreciated.

The window gasket just snaps into the channel in the door.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

thanks. any special manner in which to pop it in? starting from where the mirror is or whatever? and can it be replaced without removing the window, lower window weatherstrip/gasket and doorcard?

The picture of the window channel weather strip in realoem.com doesn't show the part that runs down the rear portion of the window. That part of the gasket is going to make it difficult to replace the seal with the window in place. It may be possible, but every time I've installed the gasket I've had the glass out. I always start in the upper rear and work towards the ends. On the rear edge I form a bend in the seal and push it down into the door and then seat the remainder of that part.

Yep #8 is easy to replace, and so is 2 and 3 . but 4 and 5 are pita.
