Tension spring grommet

So my clutch pedal was making squeaking noise so I lubed it up and it was a temp. fix.

Upon closer inspection, the rubber grommet is hanging off of the top of the tension spring.

Now im getting pissed off because I cant get the ^&*^&&^*(&^(*&^ grommet to fit back in place!!!!!!

Tips???
