    Slow starts

I think ever since I've had my car it never (rarely) started right away like the new cars do. It's quite annoying and I want it fixed. It did this with the m10 and doing the same thing with the m30. Starter cranks right away, battery / alt is good. Fuel injectors have been rebuilt, new fuel filter, new plugs, ignition components, tried multiple dmes...same thing.

It takes about 1 second to start, and I want it to start right away.....

I am thinking it's one of the two fuel pumps?

The first things to do are to check the fuel rail pressure while cranking the engine after it has sat for a while and have a smoke test run on the intake to look for intake leaks. The rail pressure should be close to normal and come up to normal within a turn or so of the engine. A leaking check valve can cause pressure to bleed off when the car sits, but if the pumps are good the pressure should immediately reach normal.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

All the gaskets and hoses are new, but I did re-use the brake booster check valve. Would a failing FPR affect this?

Just a noob shooting in the dark here but this sounds a lot like my starting problem, and the culprit was the flywheel.

Have you had a chance to see the condition of your ring gear?

Yeah, it's fine and starter is good as well. Fuel pump(s) are the only original components left to swap...

As I recall, that doesn't necessarily mean it's in perfect working condition. We just traced a no-start in my buddy's M20 to the CPS, it starts right up now as opposed to the long starts beforehand. $40 fix. :) Do you know someone with a B35 without the long start problem? Couldn't hurt swapping it out.

Might give it a shot since it's easier / quicker than a fuel pump swap for now...
