Idles at 500rpm like a big block with cams?

I changed the plugs, oil, did some seafoam in the crankcase and the fuel tank, but not in the intake yet.

There was a lot of oil in the spark plug tubes so I replaced both the valve cover gasket and the tube gaskets but the car idles at about 500ish rpm though and lopes really bad like a big v8 with cams. Once warm it will stall out sometimes when I come to a stop. Any ideas??

Are we to assume by the spark plug tube seals that this is an m42?

I would check with a can of carb cleaner for vac leaks at the cluster of crazy hose under the manifold. Also, remove and clean IAC.

Yeah, I am sorry. It is indeed an M42 out of a 318is.

I dont have a manual on the car yet, do you happen to know where I can look at a pic of where the IAC is located?

      Thanks!

Thanks bud. Was able to find what I needed and will check in to it tomorrow. I assume I can take it off and use some brake parts cleaner to try and make sure its cleaned up and good?

He meant spray carb cleaner on the engine to see if there are vacuum leaks. If there are any, the carb cleaner will be sucked in and you will notice a change in idle.
