    help with output flange nut

Need to replace the output seal on my tranny, and need a thin-walled socket to fit the nut

Can someone measure the inside diameter of the output yoke, please? I need to know how large of a socket I can get to fit, and I don't want to buy the $50 one from Pelican.

    TIA

its easy. go to harbor freight and get the deep wall impact socket set. go to a grinding wheel and take about half the meat off of it for about an inch.

    cheap and easy.

go to checker (or their variant in your area) and get part number 648445. this is a thinwalled socket, 1 3/16 deep. designed for use on oil sending units. fits the nut perfectly, and gets into the well in the yoke. Nut is tighter than hell, but it will come off. best part, if you break it, lifetime warranty.

Micah, you know Tom and Jeff, right? Get in touch with Tom, he still has the socket we modified to fix the trans on my old white '87.

I went to Napa and asked for a 30 mm thin walled deep socket. $26 dollars later I had one with a lifetime guarantee. I know, I know too expensive for R3V.
