    pulling engine codes?

    Um, how do you do it?

    The check engine light blinks at me, the oil service light is on (it's been changed) and the 'inspection' progress bar is almost to the red.

    My car is 1989 325i. Is it OBDII or OBDI? OBD at all?

    The Check light (in the center of the cluster) blinks when any of the lights in the check panel above the mirror are on. The Check Engine Light (at the bottom lest for the cluster) comes on when a fault is present in the DME.It is an OBD1 system. If both the idle and WOT switches in the TPS are operating you can pull codes from the DME via the "stomp test". See http://e30world.com/fuel/BMW-E30-DME...ic-fault-codes
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      If this doesnt work then most likely either my WOT or TPS are bad?

        For the stomp test to work the DME has to be a Motronic 1.3 (a 173 or later), the CEL bulb can't be burned out, and both the idle and WOT switches in the TPS have to operate. If the first two condition are satisfied and the test doesn't work the TPS is probably bad or misadjusted.

            TPS = throttle position sensor??

            If your radio is in anti-theft mode, does that make any difference?

              Is there anyway to clear the codes without the Peake tool?
