    Reuse front wheel bearings?

I've got some new strut casings that I have some plans for, my old wheel bearings are fine, no noise or play, and while I like replacing stuff, I don't really feel like shelling out $200+ for new bearings/hubs for the front. Has anybody reused old wheel bearings, or is it a crap shoot that the races don't separate? Should I even bother getting a puller, or just shell out for new bearings?
    paint sucks

When Josh and I replaced his, the bearings just slid off the spindle once the nut was removed. No puller needed.

As long as you don't pull the inner race out, the will be fine.

I did for now, one side slid out complete as one unit and the other separated.....FTL. Re-use them and keep an eye on any noises and then replace with new...

Fuck it man, this isn't rocket science.

If that inner race pops out, put it back...just know you are gonna be doing it again in a couple of months.

Eh, I'm new to bearing work. Just being cautious, I don't want to try and pull a bearing, then separate it and be out a car until I get a new one. As I understand it, if you separate a bearing it's pretty much ruined.

I might just use new ones, but I hate replacing expensive shit that still works fine.

I ripped mine apart, but after brutalizing it back together, it still feels fine a year later, like 8,000 miles last year.

Just clean them and repack themput the seals back in. If you don't see apparent damage/markings on the ball bearings they are probably fine.

As long as you don't mess up the inner bearing cage (the thing that holds all the balls in place) you can put them back together and have them be fine. Just clean everything very well, re-assemble and pack them with grease. And by pack, I don't mean smear some on the outside of the bearing. You need to pack the grease into one side until it comes out the other. Basically the same idea as this:

Only that is a needle style bearing and e30's have roller balls. You also don't have to move as fast as that guy did.
