I recently had an overhaul on my 88is and noticed when i come to a stop not everytime but sometimes my idle with the brake pressed starts to bounce out of control and lurches forward. It starts out slowly then speeds up the bouncing it is very weird and it is starting to piss me off. I recently replaced the coolant temp sensor and still does the same bs. I need some help. Also what is the normal idle rate while in park mine might be high idk. Someone help me out.

I would say that you probably have an intake leak in conjunction with a sticky ICV. If the bounce occurs only when you are holding the brake, there may be a leak in the brake booster as well as associated with the intake. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I just unhooked the ICV plug on the bottom while my car was running and nothing happened. Is that supposed to happen? Also I checked the black elbow that connect it to the engine I didnt see any cracks but im gonna look again. Anyone have any suggestions about how to check for cracks on this?sigpic

Are u talking about the MAF or the ICV? I think my ICV is faulty if u unplug the connector on the bottom of it while ur car is idling what is suppressed to happen to a good one? Mine did nothing. Any explanations?
