    water behind front passenger seat!?!

I have tried searching without finding results for water in this area. Again, when it rains, I find my carpet to be soaked behind my passenger side front seat. I know there is a plug in the floor pan below that area that needs to be looked at. What other areas can the water come in from? The door appears clean on the inside so I don't think it's overflowing in from there. I have read that the driver's side can get liquid on the floor from the Master Cylinder and Heater Core. Any ideas on where it could be coming in from would be great. I think I have to check the front vent drains still. Thx in advance.

btw no rust visible yet, I think it's a newer problem. ((crossing fingers))

Its probably your rear window seals, thats what it was on my 87. Pop off the little cover behind the latch for the rear window, you will see a screw in a slot. This screw slips over time and lets tension off the seals, sometimes allowing water in. Loosen the screw, get a buddy to press on the window from the outside, and re tighten. Check your sunroof drains while you're at it, but those shoulnt put water in that location.

I have the seats out and the carpet pulled up at the moment and all the surrounding areas are dry as a bone and its been raining all week off and on. The water pools in the low spot behind the passenger seat on top of a little slab of sound deadening which has a 5" round plug under it. Investigating now. Window seals appear fine so far... tested with a hose. I think I might just pull off the sound deadener patch and take a look.

Well after pulling the seats and side panels and door panel off, I can see the water that comes inside the door was rolling off a wire near a spot on the door where the water barrier skin was loose and it trickled onto the carpet. Arranged the wires around and am gonna build a fresh, non-shrunken door skin thingy. Pics later maybe.

was leaking from the "vapor barrier" behind the door panel. Hope thats the only leak.

Behind the door panel, there is a vinyl or plastic sheet that is glued onto the door. It is the barrier keeping rain water (etc, etc) off the backside of the door panel as it runs down from the window scrapers into the door and out the bottom.
