    Leak in trunk

My trunk has developed a leak on the driver side area behind the rear wheel. I poured water over different areas to find the leak, and its coming in through the plastic drainage peice where the sunroof hose exits. The water seems to be leaking in from the outer half of this area. If I remove the bumper cover. should I be able to get to this peice to reseal it from the outside? Or will I have to remove the bumper as well? That being said, how do I remove either the plastic bumper cover or the entire rear bumper? Thanks

Thanks...I had actually already read those. I know where the leak is coming from, the rear drain for the sunroof near the rear drivers side sidemarker. I was wondering how I can access this drain from the outside to seal up the edges where the water is leaking in.

I changed out my trunk seal and it fixed my leak

These are old cars. It would not be a waste of money to change out that seal even if it is not the cause. (IMO)

People also look at the light fixture seals

change all of it if you can.

        good luck

i have been having problems with my trunk, new trunk seal and tail light seals didnt fix it, the vents are ok . I found that the tail lights colored lense (eairly style) delaminates from the solid plastic peice causing a leak. my guess is silicone sealer will fix it.

Its definitely not my trunk seal, its water leaking in between the body and the plastic sunroof drainage peice in the trunk. What I really need to know is how to get to the outer half of this peice so i can seal it up good.

plastic bumpers? or metal? Plastic bumpers you take the bumper off metal you take the side plastic peices off. then there are 4 tabs on teh drainage vents, push those down gently (they will break if your not careful.) then they pop out. They pull out once you push the tabs in, once you see it w/o the trunk carpet or bumper/bumpertrim on you will kno what im talking about. There is a rubber gasket type of thing that goes around it. i cleaned my and reused them. i dont know but i would assume you could order new ones.

Yeah I removed the trunk lining so I can see the peice from the inside. I've got plastic bumpers, but I'm not sure how to remove them to get at it from the outside.

i belive there are 2 hex bolts onthe bottom of the bumper that get removed and then the bumper slides out. (i belive....i dont have plastic bumpers so im not positive)
