engien stand mounting and seperating tranny and engine

alright two very newb questions, but i'd rather be assured rather than effing up.

    1. which "holes" can i use for the engine stand? Will the ones where the tranny went into work or? if theres a pic somewhere thatd be awesome

    2. to seperate the tranny from the engine, i've removed all the bolts around it as well as the two starter bolts, Its seemed to have seperated as i can turn the tranny around but its still stiff to seperate. I read the e30 repair manual and it doesnt say anything else is needed. My guess is that its just 21 years worth of grip/grime holding it together. So am i right to say my next step is just pull/pry apart?

    thanks guys.

    edit engine is m42. 1991 318i, 5 speed
