air bag vs non air bag steering rack

Hello,

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between an air bag steering rack vs a non air bag steering rack. I have an 91 air bag car with a bad rack and I have a good rack off a 91 non air bag car, will I be able to use it?

There is no difference in the steering rack itself, the linkage could be different, but you're much better off swapping to an E36 rack instead.

Thing is I already have a rebuilt non air bag rack.
I'm tring to figure out why there are two part numbers.

The racks are exactly the same. If it came with the lower knuckle, that bit is different. I think they changed the design of the housing at some point, but I may be wrong there. I don't think that coincided with airbags at all, though.
