    Possible fuel system problem

Well, after having a large amount of work on my car done, i.e. head gasket replaced, valve cover gasket replaced, timing belt, water pump, coolant, and a new catback all replaced I've noticed a smell of gasoline coming from the engine compartment.

After school today I popped the hood to notice anything in particular, I didn't see much but I did notice that the soft fuel line running into the fuel rail wasn't on all the way, if that makes sense. Here is a picture:

Shouldn't the soft line be all the way on the nipple to the fuel rail? Could I just un-tighten the clamp slide the hose to the rail and the re-tighten?
    Thanks in advance.

Give that a try. Before anything else. Could be the problem. Thats the return line and its under pressure.

Try a new hose clamp. If the hose is crappy, replace it.
