Changing a front Seat Belt Buckle?

Hey all, the passenger seat belt buckle (thing the end of the belt plugs into) is screwed and i see it as unsafe. I would like to replace it, i have felt down the side and there is a bolt? holding it in. To remove this do i have to take the seat out of the car or can i stick a wrench down there and remove this bolt then take the old unit off and bolt a new one in ?

17mm bolt on the side. i find it easier to just remove the seat, but do whatever works. btw... all the seat bolts/nuts are 17mm as well

Just take the seats out. It will make it much easier and removing the seats is not hard at all.

If its a coupe...just lean the seat forward like youre getting in the backseat. Then get in the backseat and unbolt the buckle from there. Takes a good 5 minutes...maybe.
