    Flood Damage to Starter

As we've seen in some other threads the east coast got a good bit of rain. The road that I take to work was closed because of flooding, unfortunately it wasn't closed until after I took it. Hit a patch of water that was up to the doors, I did not realize it was that deep. Car took it like a champ, belts screamed a bit but went back to normal after a few minutes.

After work ran it ok, idle seemed a little rough. Took an extra half hour to find a road home that wasn't closed.

The next morning (this morning) little hesitation upon starting, started did not respond for a couple seconds but then fired up.

After work starter did nothing, finally got up the momentum to push start it, the car ran ok after starting. Parked my car and tried to start it back up, made a really weird noise but then started right up on second try. I parked on an incline just in case it gives me trouble in the morning, not sure if I did any permanent or not.

Just wondering how concerned I should be, think I damaged the solenoid?
West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.

Check the engine to body ground, but water and electric motors don't get along well. You will probably need to replace the starter.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Has been starting up nicely so far, I think that the water just had the starter stuck and that push start was knocked it loose. Everything seems to be fine so far.
