Its obviously electrical. My temp gauge usually sits at the first white mark above the middle and moves slightly when the aux fan kicks on and when the turn signal goes on/off. If you shut the engine off and turn the ignition back on its always solid on the middle. Also when I floor it, WOT, it drops down to dead center but as soon as I let off it goes back up to the upper mark.
How exactly does the system work? Does the gauge look at the resistance on a closed loop? Does it go through the DME and then to the gauge? I need ideas on where to start looking for shorts/scrapes/cuts ect?
