    me swapping Diff? maybe?

i have a 318is and i dont have the limited slip. well at least i dont think i have b/c i do have an "S" on the diff tag. would a 3.73 LSD from a 325 fit, also what would it do to my speed? will i slow down some? what will happen?

i do know however, LSD is better than Open. Duh

    thanks

what year is it i thought they all came with LSD's that was another bonus to the s wasn't it? or was it just an option for that too.. hmm it wont slow you down, a 325 diff is the same isn't it? anyways you will have better traction of the line so if anything you will speed up.

If your diff tag number starts with an "S" you should already have limited-slip. If not, it may be time to have the diff rebuilt...Just my .02.

From what I've gathered, 4.10's are stock in the 318is. LSD was an option that many didn't have. I *think* all rwd e30 diffs are interchangeable. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

          Don't put in a 3.73 lsd, get the small case 4.10lsd or a 4.27lsd.

From what I've read on the forums, the 4-bangers came with the small-case diff and the sixers came with a "large" case diff. Other than that I don't know the complexities of swapping one for the other....

well my idea is, as long as it doesn't slow me down that much, i would like to have my rpm's at 75-85 lower than what it is at. i just dont like crusin at such hi rpm's on the freeway.

i do know i dont have the "S" on my diff, i looked when i put on some suspension.

              thanks
