    A/C compressor clutch wire

I'm not getting any juice at the compressor clutch pigtail (the wire is black/red stripe), and I've traced the wire across the front of the car, up under the fuse panel, and then down through the firewall. From there it's a pain to see up under the dash. Anyone know where it goes? I have already verified proper evaporator control unit function, which is the relay/temp. switch that supposedly operates the compressor but oddly enough has no blk/red wire on it's connector.

iirc it goes above the glovebox area, there is a 4pin connector there and connects to the dme.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it when it's light out again.

also, download ETM for your car and it will all be there. I think there is more than one wire too, one tells the dme to bump the idle rpm and another sends power to the clutch...

Actually, I have the ETM for '91 and there are NO diagrams for the compressor clutch and pressure switch circuits. Unless I'm overlooking something..

Something else that seems odd is the manual shows the use of two separate pressure switches (high/low) at the filter drier and my car has only one.

Hmm, have you checked one for an 89?

Thanks Jean. I guess the '91 ETM is incomplete for some reason. The '89 ETM has the pressure switch/clutch diagram. Some of the wire colors and switching are different but I'll see where it takes me.

It was Jean or someone that said one time that if the 88 is the same basic wiring as the 91, the 91 etm will only have the changes in it and you still have to reference the 88.

Weird. It ought to disclose that information inside somewhere, eh?
