What a 190k/19 yr old coolant hose looks like OR Why yer coolant lvl sensors gunk up

See that gunk? (rubber degradation). It rubs off quite easily, and answers my question from a month ago "Why do I have chunky things in my coolant?"

    "EXTREME CLOSE-UP, WHOAAAAAAA!!!!"

The cracking on the outside ( im sure this is nothing new to anyone) , oh great now you all know that im white AND that I bite my nails.

    yet again

Old hose next to a piece of the new hose. The new hose was too long where it attached to the radiator and it ended up smashed against the airbox lid so I trimmed it down since the airbox is difficult to remove as it is without a hose rubbing on it. We already have convected heat getting to the intake, conducted heat would be an extra case of no-bueno.

It is just the rubber form the inside of the hose degrading from the heat and coolant over the years.

I think it's time I get some new hoses. Mine are probably original for all I know.:???:
