    153 to 173/380 ecu swap questions, probably easy for u guys

    going from the 153 to either 173 or 380 ecu + chipping

    current setup: 87 325is, GREEN label 153 ECU, 5 speed

    do i need to upgrade to a GREEN 173/380, or does it matter? what else specifically do i need to know for a direct swap in to my e30?

      It doesn't matter. Any 173 or 380 DME will be fine. To make the swap, disconnect the battery and swap the DME's, it's that simple.
