Best way to clean out the head and block

So i cracked the sump and when I pulled it off I found heaps of carbon and other sludge both hard and soft. Mmm its bad. Before I put the new sump on I wanna hit the motor with CRC (something that breaks down crap buy still keeps it lubed up. Then give the motor a good flush. Any idea if it will work or will i just block up all the oil jackets.

CRC will not keep anything lubed up. Most likely be breaking buildup chunks free to clog other things....I would just clean the pan and stick it back on.

i wouldn't mind stuff like that unless its like this guys

then i would yank the fucker out and do a full rebuild cause its easier than cleaning individual parts

I kno it sounds bad, and I don't usually do it, but if its like a daily or something, just close your eyes and pretend you didnt see it.

If it's that gunked up I'd leave it, rather than clean it and run the risk of dislodging something and it clogging something more important. Only way to get all of that crap out is to tear it down and tank it.
