    wiper linkage keeps popping off

for some reason my wiper linkage keeps popping off the drive arm from the motor.

not the connection directly under the wiper motor, its doing it on the side that is directly under the drivers side cowl that has the metal coupling and little rubber bushing.

i replaced the bushing (#6 in this diagram)

however it seems to work for about 3 times then pops off again on the upswing side of the stroke. i couldn't find what type of grease to use, i would assume wheel bearing grease or similar. is this needed to keep it stuck or can the actual metal busing part wear out as well?

I always used white lithium grease. The metal cup on the end of the rod will stretch with time and lose tension, causing the bushing not to hold onto the ball as well. Just order a replacement, part #61 61 1 370 796. They're $10.25 from Pelican.

thanks matt, you were right it ended up being the metal coupling on the wiper arm.

ended up heading to the local yard for some other parts today and found an 89 with a good one on it still. was able to pop it off and could definitely tell the difference between it and mine. lubed it up and popped it on mine this afternoon and working great now.
