    Two things:

    1. It's an engine, not a motor. Man oh man that hurts my ears =).

    2. My theory on why BMW hasn't made a V6: V6's are around so that 6 cylinders can be mated to front wheel drive. I've never seen a FWD I6 or a RWD V6 in my life. That doesn't mean they don't exist, I've just never seen one.

The only reason I would ever drop that 300hp V12 into an E30 would be to listen to it howl. I don't think I've ever even heard a V12. There seriously must be better ways to reach 300hp.

I think the G35 is teh only car i have driven with a v6 and RWD. other than our Exploder Limited that is.

I believe the L6 is naturally balanced, or much easier to balance. the v6 requires counter shafts and are really gay. :P

I want a e30 with the new v10  Did someone order a 500hp BMW coupe? "OVER HERE!!!"

BMW uses I6 instead of V6 because it produces MUCH less vibration. I6 and similarly the V12 are the smoothest possible engine configurations.

Common sense- It's the new 'gifted'

So does anyone have the info I asked for? Since these swaps are "old news" there should be plenty of answers.

            1. Who said motor? :)

            2. A few RWD v6's off the top of my head - Mustang and Camaro. :) I'm certain there are more - way too lazy to think about it right now.

            3. The V12 isn't that spectacular. As some have said of the Viper, the sounds of the V10's and V12's are different. Much more understated IMO than you'd expect. Not worth the hassle. Turbo or DOHC ENGINE swap are way better, cheaper options.

As someone said earlier, Europeans would put his mom under the hood if someone said she had more horsepower.

I dont know much about american cars...I've only seen old oldsmobiles that are FWD and have V6's. Then again, my friends passat is a straight 4 longitudinally (not transverse) mounted and is FWD, so my theory is whack.
It holds 80% of the time, which is good enough for me.

And BTW, someone DID say motor.

Fucking deal. Motor is the word in German for engine also....

                    mo·tor ( P )
                    n.

Something, such as a machine or an engine, that produces or imparts motion.
A device that converts any form of energy into mechanical energy, especially an internal-combustion engine or an arrangement of coils and magnets that converts electric current into mechanical power.
A motor vehicle, especially an automobile: “It was a night of lovers. All along the highway... motors were parked and dim figures were clasped in revery” (Sinclair Lewis).

V6s were not developed strictly for FWD. They were developed solely for a shorter engine for shorter hoodlines and fitting engines in compact spaces like in vans and such. There are plenty of RWD cars with V engines.
                    Im now E30less.

Just like the COOPAH motto: LET'S MOTOR!
