How the hell do you bend the shifter lever?

Did everyone make something like this? Or do something else?


And I tried bending the top portion......didn't work so well. Are you supposedly to bend under the ball? That's not what it looks like....




Selector rod was easy to do, but was stumped.

that thread is already open on this computer......and I don't see how it answers the question.

I want to get under there, install the bent selector rod and shift leveler as is.....but I have to go out in a bit and don't want to get diiirty.
