CT car to CA smog issues?

I'm considering buying a 1989 325i in Connecticut and shipping it to California, can anyone tell me if these cars had California specific smog regulations that would make it difficult to register here in California.

thanks in advance for any info on this.

As far as I know, there were no CA specific E30's ever made.

If the engine management system is operating correctly and the catalytic converters are good the car should be able to pass CA emissions testing.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Like J said, I don't think there was ever a "CA Edition" produced. Our cars were made prior to Cali developing these sack sucking smog regulations. Never heard of anyone having trouble bringing one in from out of state. As long as it blows clean, and passes visual..should be good to go.
