    A Couple of Maintenance Questions

I want to know is the best fuel filter to go with for a 1990 325i in terms of bang for your buck and longevity. And what if the best fuel system/injector cleaner?

Fuel filter? There isn't much to say. At one level, they are all pretty much the same. They are about the same size, and can all hold an immense amount of dirt. A single bad tank can still clog them, but most likely they will still be clean when you cut them open after 100K miles.

The worst problem is one you can't predict: corrosion. I had an aftermarket filter spring a leak about a month ago. It looked fine on the outside, but rusted through from the inside. It was old enough to be sold before E10, so they likely didn't plan on needing to stand up to corrosive alcohol-laced fuel.
The car lost about 10 gallons of gas, all as a fine mist...
