    ABS relay

In my 1992 325i Cabby I can't seem to locate what I believe is supposed to be the ABS relay. The only relay that seems to be under or around the steering column only has 5 wires feeding 4 female connectors, the wires are:

    2 brown into one
    1 green and white,
    1 brown and white, and
    1 purple and brown.

I thought the ABS relay was supposed to have 6 wires and connectors?

ABS relay sits under the black cover on the actual ABS pump. (it says ABS on it and has all the brake lines going to it ;) )

Really, so it's on the pump?? Everything I found online says it was under the dash on the drivers side by the ABS control unit...Aren't there two relays for different purposes then, the one under the dash and the one in the pump? Which one controls the Brake lining light?

Thanks! And I appreciate the visual too!

I don't know if it is in the same location on this car, but on all other E30's the ABS relay is under the dash clipped to the bracket that ounts the right side of the ABS module.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Late cars DO NOT HAVE an ABS overvoltage protection relais. They take their power from pin 20 @ C101 which is connected to 87a of the main relais via red (or RT/WS) wire.

            Overvoltage protection relay

the one under the dash is the overvoltage protection relay.

So the one under the dash is the relay that is known to blow correct? If so then mine is in fine order. I took it out and popped off the cover and everthing was intact.

If it's there, yes. It may not be there - both my 90 and my 91 do not have one.

OKay then I'ma guess this is NOT an ABS relay, and my cabby is a 92

The OV relais, if it's there, is VERY close to the ABS box, tucked UP underneath the lip of the dash. There are several others in there which have nothing to do with ABS: the one on the C302 connector, if you have it, the one that is attached to the knee protection padding...
