    locking the mechanical fan

is it possible to lock the mechanical fan to always spin at its highest speed? i know it is on some cars. cos my fan clutch or whatever is screwed...

also, anyone not running a thermostat?

I did this on my 318i as the fan clutch had dyed. Just take some of that muffler hanger stuff autoparts stores, that has all the holes drilled in it, cut a small section and bolt down to the watter pump pulley, and then bolt the other end to one of the 4 bolts holdingt he blade to the clutch.
This will suck power and can possibly cuase your watter pump to go out, so not recomended for any long period of time, I ran this for 2 days untill a good replacement fan clutch came in.
