A stock H1 weighs ~7,500lb. So unless this engine is >6,500lb...

A few of the V12 MB's and I believe the Maybach use such a setup. It would be pointless on our cars though, they weigh far too little and have only so much grip from the tires. If you can lock up the tires with one caliper, why have two?

A guy here in the PAC NW has dual calipers on his e46 m3 vert.

Just for kicks, here is a picture of a brake caliper for a bus, the bus was converted into a motor home for some rich guy.

There was a yellow E30 with an M3 body and a V8, done by Prism Motorsports that had dual calipers on the front, I can't seem to find the pics tho.

Which one? I've done brakes on a few V12s and they all had single calipers.

He isn't just getting a new engine... pretty much everything is different. He also has a 6-inch lift with some monstrous tires among many other goodies.

and the H1 he has now weighs 9500lbs.

Alot of BTCC cars (Accords, 406s, primeras) from the Late '90s had twin front calipers on ~380mm discs.
Something to do with weight Vs pad area & heat distribution around the rotor, these days you can get 8pot monobloc calipers that weigh stuff all and have 4pads.

There is a company over here, that imports those calpiers. I had a chat, with the guy and he says. 6 Pot Tarrox calipers still work better, this is more for show.

BTW: my mate has ordered 13.5 inch disc's and Praggia 6 Pot Callipers for is E36 316i .......but it's not going to be a slow car.
