I have noticed for a while now my car runs rich on startup and other times as well. I can smell the unburnt fuel. I have had problems before where i will be driving down the road and for no apparent reason the car dies. JUst dies and when i restart it it starts right up. I have had issues when it was cold over the winter where the car would not start unless i held the pedal to the floor so the injectors would not spray. Anyways pulled and replaced the plugs today. They are black and i can still smell the fuel on them. any ideas?

ive had the same problem as running rich and sometimes when its reallllllllllly cold outside the engine will start to turn over but unless i hold the pedal down for 5-10 seconds it wont start, holding the pedal down, slowy but surely it starts to turnover and run.
i havent checked my plugs since im already positive its running rich anyway but i last changed mine back in august.
