$3400 to fix my car YAY

The tranny literally exploded, the fluid was gray and had chunks of metal in it...

Soo... $3400 using a new tranny from BMW or $1400 using a used one from Aurora auto wrecking..

At least it'll be in great form now!

Don't waste $2000 on a new one. Just get the used one, from Aurora.

DIY, order all that other stuff online, you could probably get out for $800 or less.

I work 40 hour weeks. I don't have the time, space, or energy to do this myself.

How much is the shop charging you per hour for labor? Thats too much money man. You can get a used tranny with a std warranty installed for $800-$1200 tops around here.....I would assume WA and NJ are not that different.

Try save some money as $3400 can get you a whole new e30 in good condition.

I thought I mentioned it, but I'm also having some cooling system work done, and also a new starter put in.

haha come check out my car and see if you still thick that.

it's near mint. Dinan stage 3 with MM wheels.

This is just a result of a botched tranny job a few years back.

doing a burnout in your car was fun.

$2400 Remanufactered Manual Transmission, 85' 325e, Direct from BMW.

I myself am getting a used one and going through it. All new parts + tranny including clutch and short shifter kit is about $800 and a good amount of labor.

But hey if you got the money... I would love to be able
to get a reman from BMW and have it installed. That would be great.
