    Speedo Not working ?

I have had a look at the past problems people have had with the speedo but I thought I would ask the question. The car has been in storage for approx 3-6months. Took it out found the batt flat (surprise ) Put a battery in and started up. Went for a drive noticed the speedo aint going. No odometer either. Checked the fuse, all good. Everthing else on the dash appears fine. Im wondering as both the speedo and odo aint going is it likely that the sensor in diff has crapped out from sitting around??. Any pointers would be great.

The pulse sender on the diff rarely fails, its more likely that the connector on it is bad, or corroded. Take it off and check.

        speedo no worky

Are your NiCads in the cluster ok? Also test the wiring with a multi-tester.
Sometimes wiring goes bad after sometime not being used and exposed to the elements, moisture forms on connections in winter, changes in temperature from seasons cause cracking to housing, etc. If you can, try running a new set of wires from your sensor in the diff' to your wiring harness in the cluster. Sometimes a good tap on the cluster while you're driving will determine if the fault is in the wiring behind it (example: speedo starts working).

Sometime the connecter can look clean and still not be making a good connetion... try bending the post just to make sure it isn't that.
