Or do I need to drive it as far as it can go within the crankshaft?
Should my pilot bearing look like this??

Thanks guys.. should have pressed it in further when I first thought of it. Whole day down the drain...
Edit: By the way, in case anyone else has this problem I did drive it in further with a 15/16" socket and that did the trick. Specifically I pressed it 0.510"Last edited by rcfanatic; 08-15-2010, 04:23 PM. Reason: Edit: By the way, I did drive it in further with a 15/16" socket and that did the tricksigpicComment

Ok, flamebait question here..but what IF you don't push it in all the way, and had left it flush with the FW? Would everything still assemble correctly? What would be the negative affects afterward?Comment

BINGO. not only that, but if by some miracle it does seat, it will also thrash the input shaft bearing on the transmission. Mucho easier to not screw it up, and just seat the damn bearingComment
