    Fan clutch problems

I've had multiple problems with the fan, it keeps breaking. I used to replace it with used parts that I bought at the scrap yard but I got sick of paying for them so I decided to buy the thing new from BMW, thinking it would stop breaking definatly. After I installed it, it ran perfectly, way better then the others. There was some good space and all. Last night, I decided to have fun with the car and push it a little but when I shifted in 3rd I heard a noise. I stopped and saw the fan had broken again (the blades). Usualy the others times when it broke it was because I pushed the car a little more then usual but this time I thought since the thing was new it could handle it...anyway has this happened to anyone else? do you know what could cause this?

Sorry for the lenght of the explanation

haha sounds like your having bad luck, probably the age, and the fan had too much stress cause the clutch was actualy holding it unlike b4, atleast the clutch didn't break :)

Fan is likely shifting and hitting the radiator/support/hose.

Yup. Chances are the waterpump is fried too. A broken fan blade will ruin the bearings pretty quickly.
