    coolant leak

so i bought my e30 during the summer had no issues with it but as soon as i go back to school my car decides to spring a coolant leak somewhere. When I drive it it will start to over heat if it sits in traffic, at a traffic light etc. when i get it moving again sometimes the engine cools off and goes back to safe operating temp. When i looked for a leak i couldnt find one at the top of the engine but when i come back to after its parked theres a pool of coolant that looks like it is coming directly from the middle of the engine.. I'm doing an oil change on it this weekend so i figured i'd look for it then but if you guys have and ideas what it could be before i get underneath it i would appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    -Brent

Most likely spot is the throttle body warmer, pretty much the main common failure.

Easy and cheap to fix though!

    Closing SOON!

Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
        Mark: "You never will."

          The block is cracked!

Kidding, my vote is for the throttle body warmer as well. I bypassed mine and all is well.

I did that for a little while. Then I caved and bought the .95 cent piece.

I'm still too cheap for that. I'm even going to cut those hoses down even further, so it's less spaghetti-esque under there.

So, who has the radiator replacement thread?

turned out to be the hose that comes off the splitter towards the back of the engine, i thought i was coming somewhere off the bottom b.c i didnt pressure test it, and the intake and some wiring was kinda in the way but once i got some pressure in the system it was spewing everywhere.
