    Removing cataytic converter???

My cat has a loose baffle . It is very noisy when the RPMs are under 2000K. My friend works at a muffler shop and could remove it for me and replace with a staight through pipe for very cheap. I've just had my car smogged so I don't have to worry about that for two years. My question is will this hurt my car in any way? I mean as long as I have my O2 sensor hooked up I should be fine right?

    Thanks, ABE

    Bad for your car? No.

Environmentally irresponsible? Yes. NoX is really nasty and cat really helps.

It'll be a lot boomier, too. BMWs have a mini resonator built in to their cats. Without the cat, I'd have your exhaust guy weld in a resonator instead of a straight pipe.

Thanks. I think I'm just gonna go with a Magnaflow universal cat. Would'nt want piss off mother nature. She'll have a tree fall on my car or something. :)
