    Does anyone rebuild/restack out LSD's?

Long story short is I am either going to have my current 3.73 restacked with fresh friction plates + whatever it takes to make it lockup more.......

    OR

I am going to buy a Torsen from Stuck on e30tech.

Here is my reasoning for both choices. After much reasearch on many different POV's I am 100% certain that my LSD is tired and old. A torsen will never wear out and will give my power wheel what it needs to keep the car moving forward. HOWEVER, in may area the way our autoX courses are set up I often (and this is aproven tactic with many years behind the wheel of my car on our courses) use power oversteer to set the car up for the next corner or most likley the finish the course. Around here they really like to end the course on a 90 degree left or right but only 40-50'. It simply is taking too much time to allow my car to settle and than hit the hammer (in its current state).

So, I am open to opinion and thoughts but I am really after someone who can rebuild our friction LSD's.

Anyone have a shop or person they can reccomend? Anyone been in my shoes with this situation?

    Thanks in advance everyone.

I'd go as far as to say if your clutch pack diff has more than 50k on it, it's lost a substantial amount of effectiveness.

I've got a torsen, and I love it. It does a much better job of turning both wheels than the 170k clutch diff it replaced (not to mention it puts a **** eating grin on my face on a regular basis).

Did you take any action yet either way?

I have not. I do think that I want to lock both ways (on and of the gas) so I am going to find a shop to rebuild my current 3.73 with a bigger lock.

I paid $500 shipped for mine, low miles, no rebuilding / phutzing with required. Literally filled it with oil, threw it in and started to enjoy it.

Winter with a torsen > winter with an lsd. I swear, it's almost like cheating. The only way it could be any easier would be to drive an iX.
