    Running on 3 Cylinders

I'm picking up a 318is tomorrow, only thing is, it's running on 3 cylinders due to a bad coil. Is it ok to run it as is to get it home (~20 miles)? Will the fuel injector for that cylinder still fire even with no spark/combustion? Should I just maybe unplug that injector to keep it from firing?

Don't run it at all with a bad coil. Not even idling. Not that it will idle for very long on three cylinders...

Why not just unplug the fuel injector?

It'll run like shit still but won't wash out the cylinder.

Already ran it some, drove it around the block. Seems to run ok, just not how it should obviously. I'm thinking the coil might be working some of the time, but without further diagnosis, I'm not sure.

Will unplugging the injector get it the 20 miles home?

Well don't take my opinion as fact but it isn't going to hurt anything.

Hell I ran my e28 with a burned valve for quite a while not knowing any better and I never even disconnected the injector, probably washed the fuck out of the cylinder though.

Its bad for your oil overtime, but I wouldn't hesitate to drive it home.

Yeah if the fuel injector is dumping fuel in but if you disconnect it then it won't wash out the cylinder and dilute the your oil.
