WTF is a rocker shaft seal? I've replaced the rear main seal and oil pan gasket and I still have small drips of oil coming from bell housing.

Rubber, plug shaped like a house, Goes at both ends of the rocker shafts underneath the valve cover gasket.

I had a leak much like the one you are discussing.

One fine Oregon morning I found my clutch pedal on the floor and a HUGE puddle of clear oil under the car...slave cylender gave way during the night.

Back in those days, I had a guy named Jordan nearby who came over and bailed my ass out.

Keep an eye out on the clutch fluid levels, man.

That helps.. but I was leaning more toward where they are located under the valve cover?

Both ends of the head, on either side of the cam.

How easy are they to replace?

as easy as doing the valve cover gasket, maybe a 15 minute job on the e30
