    wtf?? Waterpump problems

Any help? I can't get the 32mm nut for the fanto unscrew. I know it's reverse thread, I have taken off the fan, so I have a decent amount of room, but it won't come off. I have tried the quick sharp hit, but it just turns...

Take an air hammer walk the nut free. Like on a gmc. If you don't have a air hammer, use a long punch.

I watched my friend take mine off today.. he undid two of the small bolts for clearance while I held pressure on the alternator belt so it wouldn't spin. Then he just gave it a couple hard shoves with a wrench and it came right off

Whack the wrench with a hammer.

it's not that it won't turn, but i can't get any grip to hold it while i turn the wrench...

Use a counter hold tool or a large screwdriver against the pulley nuts to hold that shaft.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Yeah, really making sure the pulleys don't spin is key.
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
              Mark: "You never will."

ok, got it off... but it doesn't seem like it's bad. the fan spins when i turn the hub when the pulley connects. is there something i am missing?

story: i was driving it one day and i noticed it was getting hotter than usual. while driving it didn't do to bad, at idle it got hotter. i thought maybe the fan was bad. when i inspected it though, it was coming on, so i thought thermostat, replaced it, seemed a little better, but still not fixed. i took the thermostat all the way off to see if that would help, nope, got hot quick, real quick. so i thought maybe with all the tinkering the waterpump may have went out now... what else is there to a cooling system?

Did you bleed the cooling system after doing the thermostat? You could have air trapped in the system.

                    Its a viscous coupling.

Idk about the bleeding, a shop did it for me. I don't have a clue where a viscous coupling would be. I might put it together tonight and see if the bleeder was the problem.

And thanks to all who helped already, I appreciate it.
