    What's this Inspection light mean?

I was driving my 1991 318is around yesterday and I have a warning light that said "Inspection." Below that there is a yellow light. Any thoughts on what that means? Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, I usually disregard those lights. I delegate when to change the oil and "inspect" it.
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
          Mark: "You never will."

you can buy a tool for $70 and always do it yourself safely, take it to BMW and they will reset it for $70 each time, or use a wire to jump pins and run the risk of frying something if you mess up. take your pick.

Dude, This is what I did to both of my 325's, though not sure it applies to the 318. The friggin easiest solution is to bend a paper clip into a U-shape and the ends of the clip bent to fit the #7 and #19 pins. Insert the clip and turn your key to "start" without turning the engine over. After a couple of seconds the "oil service" light will go off and several seconds later all the green lights are restored. Bada-Bing! Good luck
