My transmission tends to stay in gear longer than I expect. Sometimes the engine revs to 5k before it will shift from third to fourth. Second to third gear at 3-4k. Is this unusual for an automatic transmission?

^^ You would be suprised at how unclean fluid and improper levels will make the ZF tranny's work. First thing is to change the filter and fluid.

Check the kickdown cable adjustment, most likely is adjusted up too much. Unless this is only happening when cold then the governor is the suspect.Comment
