    e30 frame rails

if the frame rails in front of the front subframe are bent, how fucked is the frame really? like if i just wanted to strip the car down to nothing and do a full 24v build, would it be a bitch to fix the bends or am i better off just giving up on that chassis and finding another straight one? I'll be getting pics of the damage to help in the decision, part of me says fuck it and fix it, but part of me says its not worth the hassle.

the only reason i want to keep this chassis is its exactly what i want, early body 4dr. other than that, i couldnt care less about it.

I am in the same boat as you are with the frame damage before the subframe. I am torn about whether to repair it or say fuck it. the parts arent that expensive, and I have most of them already, its just the time involved to do it without the use of the car. It is a fairly involved repair to replace all of the parts, drilling of spot welds and all, but eventually I think I will just do it. Cheaper than replacing the shell, and moving all the components over. If you are pulling the motor, and have the patience and all to do it, go for it

The BMW factory manual has detailed instructions on how to replace the parts, you can find it online here:

If the front of the frame rails is damaged, I'll bet on there being more damage that isn't obvious deeper in the car. Scrap that tub and find another that hasn't been damaged. That will be cheaper than putting the car on a frame machine and getting it mostly straight.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
