Yes. As far as I remember, the only akward inserts are from the 1984-85 M10 318i. Then they all are the same 51mm inserts.

My '84 eta had small struts... I think. I thought everything from before 85 did.

there are early 45mm struts, then 51mm w/o abs, and 51mm with abs... not counting the iX struts and e30 m3 struts.
