Power convertible hood rod mechanism trouble

I am having problems with the rotating arm mechanism falling off the motor. Any recommendations on securing the arm to the rotating shaft? Thanks.

There should be a screw right in center of that lever. You can see it in that picture.

That screw is in place, but the pear shaped lever rotates slips around the shaft even though the motor is moving. Basically the motor spins and the lever slips.

Have you looked at the gearing or teeth? Maybe they are stripped? Mine did that once but it was the transmission inside the motor or the gear that was stripped. Try pushing the motor all the way, clamp it with something. Maybe it is slipping out.

Unfortunately the lever portion is spinning around the shaft which inserts into the motor. The shaft rotates with the motor, but the flat pear shaped lever just spins down via gravity. I was thinking of soldering, but will probably spring the 50 bucks for a new one.
