M42 guys, is this cover stock?

didn't know where to place this... anyways

is that black cover with the logo a stock part? (if so, where can I get one) I don't have it on my car, and I don't think I've seen it on other cars, but I could be wrong.

Mine doesn't have it. Looks like a funny looking M42 engine bay, seems to be missing a few things...

          yah it's different.
          I think it's the M40.

Either way, looks like that cover would fit on the car, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on it :)

M40. Could quite possibly be one of the worst motors ever made by BMW. Timing belts like to break early, and their vavle train wears out quckly making the car lose top end power little by little.

It's a M40, noticed the orangy looking distributor coil????

I had that in my engine bay b4..... :) so I know the difference it made to ditch that and put in the M42.... :D
