AFM models?

I am curoius, since my AFM failed on me, would it be wise to pick up another one exactly like mine? Were all AFMs made in France? Or were there some that were made in Germany?

Kinda like the alternator situation, how BMW got a french company to produce alternators for some later model E30s. Any input?

All 325i m20 AFM's are interchangable.

does anyone know if there are certain AFM models to look out for? or is the "made in france" one just as good as any other.

the plastic cover reads,

Made in France"

what do you mean?

I only asked because I read somewhere about the E30 alternators. How Bosch wasnt able to supply BMW with their german alternators, so BMW subbed the work out to this french company, for the later E30's. And that is the reason why most of them went bad (the french ones).

So are you saying that there are german made AFMs? and if so, are the french AFMs in particular known for going bad?

lol i was just making a joke about french. It doesn't really matter where they are made one is not technically better then the other they are all the same exact design
