    Motor mount spacers

coming from the volkswagen scene, they have solid motor mount spacers to help even out the geometry (get the pan off the ground) of the MKIV chassis cars.

does the e30 community have something similar to this or no?

    i can make spacers.

That's what i made to raise my oil pan on my m50 swap. it's a 1/2" tall spacer 1" diameter. I can make them bigger if needed.

im assuming you're referring to the metal piece, but it looks like you've cut/stacked urethane mounts as well (its my first time seeing a mount, new to e30 mechanics)

      how does the car ride?

I didn't stack anything. i machined a solid aluminum spacers and put it on top of the motor mount. there is an m50 in my e30., it's not the m20 mount or motor. it rides fine, i don't feel a difference. it's just like having the arms sit normally on the motor mounts themselves, just higher up.

what kind of money would one be looking at to get a full set of half inch ones or possibly even 3/4?

i have a feeler in the Parts For Sale section. I would be charging about 10 shipped per pair (of 2) just tell me the diameter and thickness you want. they'll be made out of 6061

well they would be for my e30 (m44 swapped)

id probably get a set of 1/2 and 3/4 spacers to see how much each sorts out the geometry of the front end being as low as i am.

Alright well there is a decent wait. I am about to fab the exhaust for my m50 swap and getting it out of the garage. so i really don't have time to get to my buddies house at the moment to machine the spacers. I might be able to friday night.
