hmm.. parking brake light on when parking brake is down..

well recently i had the middle console out when i was vaccuuming and cleaning everything, i hadnt taken it out before and when i did i noticed a wire disconnected i connected it, started up the car, and whenever that wire is connected, the parking brake light is on, even though its down.

what would be the cause? is there a short somewhere when its connected? or is there a problem i need to fix?

theres a wire underneath the ebrake boot. It slides into a spring loaded thing i think

thats what im talking about i took out the console boot to vaccum around it and stuff and i see this wire thats not connected, i connected it and when i started the car the parking brake light was on (only when this wire was connected) even though the parking brake was down.

disconnect it. do you really need a light telling you your ebrake is on?

haha im not worried about knowing if its up or not
what makes me wonder is , are one of the back breaks locking up thinking its always on or soemthing?
or is the wire just faulty.
